Braille code and interactive graphics on a garment can be an effective way to resolve a problem, even if small, it’s important for a “minority” of the population (2.2 billion people).
Firstly, it promotes the awareness of society towards the world of the blind and visually impaired, which consequently favors their inclusion.
The ironic tone of voice with which the project is proposed serves to bring sighted people closer to a disability that is not considered as it should be.
The QR code inside the prototype and the audio-video connected to it intrigue people and stimulate them to learn more about the subject. In this way it is possible to spread an interesting perspective and interaction.
This project believes in the values of diversity and inclusiveness and brings with it the appreciation of the work done by those directly involved. It was created in collaboration with the American/Canadian brand Aille Design which, like myself, aims to listen to the customer.
"Eye Spy with My Little Finger" is an educational project that allows the client himself to listen to what the other has to say.
It acts as a supporter of a possible change if you have the will to put yourself in someone else’s shoes.
T-Shirt - “Che viaggi a fare? Tanto non ci vedi!” ["Why do you even travel? You can't see anyways!"] :
The sentence is inspired by questions asked to the blind and visually impaired nationwide.
For example:
How come you don’t wear glasses if you can’t see?
Why do you travel? You can’t see.
It represents a way to maintain an ironic tone and to entice the individual to enter this world. The discussion is further explored with the QR code which refers to an audio where people with visual impairments tell how they travel, what they learn, how they discover new places and how they face difficulties and prepare for the trip.
The questions were chosen from the answers obtained from the survey sent to the blind and visually impaired by the UICI associations at a national level.
The questions/answers taken as examples were selected according to the frequency of the answers.
Subsequently, the audio was created that deepens the message with Mrs. Mary Abbate (clinical psychologist, radio speaker and ASACOM teacher).
It is presented in the form of an additional QR code on the back of the t-shirt under the wording for the sighted, which once scanned gives access to the material.
